The partnership offers $1 million in scholarships

Earn to Learn FL (ETLFL), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization envisioning a barrier-free world of higher education, announces a partnership with Florida Gulf Coast University and the Florida Prepaid College Foundation to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the FGCU. We achieve this through matching savings grants, personal finance training and peer coaching. It’s a formula for academic success that works.

About Earn to Learn FL

Earn to Learn FL, established in 2011, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to enable low-income students to successfully complete college.

ETLFL has developed on the basis of three fundamental principles:

1. Matched education savings: Students and their families who meet the income requirements can deposit up to $500 into an ETLFL savings account each year. Their savings are then matched 8:1 by ETLFL. This brings the combined funds available for financial aid paid directly to an educational institution to $4,500 per academic year. Funds are used for tuition, books, fees, and other approved education-related expenses.

2. Close-to-peer coaching for post-secondary success: The ETLFL trains and deploys AmeriCorps members to mentor low-income students in the areas of post-secondary access, personal finance training, and career planning. Coaches support student readiness and success strategies to successfully pursue higher education.

3. Personal Finance Training: ETLFL offers a dynamic online personal finance training program designed to produce measurable and meaningful results for students and coaches. ¦
