Baystate Health has appointed Frank J. Cracolici as Interim President of Baystate Medical Center and Joanne miller as interim head nurse of the medical center.

Cracolici has extensive experience in major hospitals and most recently served as a senior advisor to the CEO of Morton Hospital, a member facility of the Steward Health Care System, a $ 7 billion system comprised of 36 hospitals and over 40,000 employees. . He was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the 125-bed hospital in Taunton. The facility has 440 physicians and 730 associates, an active emergency department with more than 45,000 visits per year, 5,500 inpatient discharges and an operating budget of $ 125 million.

Previously, Cracolici was President and CEO of St. Vincent Medical Center, part of the Verity Health System, in Los Angeles, where he was responsible for all strategy, hospital operations and outpatient services for the hospital in Los Angeles. 366 beds. Cracolici is a Johnson & Johnson Fellow of the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania and holds a Masters of Professional Studies in Health Services Administration and a Bachelors of Business and Health Services Administration from the New School for Social Research. He received his nursing degree from Englewood Hospital and Medical Center School of Nursing in Englewood, New Jersey.

Miller has over 30 years of experience in hospital operations. For 19 years, Miller served as senior vice president of patient care services, vice president of surgical services and chief nurse, as well as interim CEO in major academic health systems and community hospitals.

Most recently, Miller served as Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Carson Tahoe Health in Nevada and Interim CEO and Chief Nursing Officer at Jupiter Medical Center in Florida. She served as the Chief Nurse and Vice President of Patient Care Services at Johns Hopkins Medicine-Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC

Miller holds a Doctorate in Executive Nursing Practice from Drexel University, a Masters of Nursing Administration from the University of Hartford and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mount Saint Mary College. She is a member of the Malcom Baldridge management.


Westfield Bank announced the promotion of Steve Lavel, from Ludlow to real estate agent.

Lavell is responsible for overseeing the bank’s maintenance, landscaping and cleaning staff. He oversees the maintenance and repairs of all bank owned properties and offsite ATMs. He is the bank’s chief purchasing agent and is the direct contact for contractors, vendors and new builds, renovations and moves.

A Westfield Bank employee for almost 30 years, Lavell first joined the bank’s maintenance staff and was later promoted to Facilities Manager in 2005.


Springfield Mayor Domenic J. Sarno appointed Patrice “Chae” Swan to the new post of Director of the Technical Assistance and Compliance Department. Swan previously served as the Senior Project Manager in the City’s Management and Budget Office.

The Technical Assistance and Compliance Department works directly with the Recovery and Business Continuity Department and is responsible for implementing and ensuring the integrity of the diverse programs and small businesses that promote and develop the certification and participation of minorities, women, veterans and LGBTQ-owned businesses and small businesses in the city of Springfield.


American Eagle Financial Credit Union announced the appointment of Ryan mceleney as Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources. McEleney will lead the advancement of talent management and human capital development strategies, as well as workforce plans and programs that align with the organization’s overall business goals.

McEleney will be a member of the company’s management team, reporting directly to President and CEO Dean Marchessault, who announced earlier this year that he will retire at the end of 2021. McEleney is a Senior Certified Professional from the Society of Human Resources Management. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and graduated from the Center of Excellence in Teaching and Learning in 2015. He has a Six Sigma green belt from Central Connecticut State University, in addition to his leadership certification and his certification in culture from the Disney Institute. He also holds an advanced facilitation certificate from the Langevin Institute.
