Oman National University team visit Technopark and discuss

A delegation from the Oman National University of Science and Technology visited the Oman Technopark as part of a mission to explore the possibilities of cooperation in the field of technology. He had discussions with leading tech institutions in Kerala such as Kerala University of Digital Science, Innovation and Technology (Kerala Digital University), Kerala Startup Mission and ICT Academy of Kerala.

Omani delegates are looking for internship opportunities for students from National University of Science and Technology Technopark, Kerala Digital University and Startup Mission. They talked about the National University curriculum and the number of students while the Technopark authorities informed them about career aspects, job opportunities and facilities. The Startup Mission explained to the team its projects and events.

Willingness to collaborate

The three companies in the Startup mission that deal with artificial intelligence and cybersecurity gave presentations on their offerings. The Technopark team assured visitors that they are ready to partner with various companies and help bring students from Oman for internships in Kerala.

Omani delegates promised to check out opportunities for the Startup Mission to bring their events to Oman. The startup mission has in turn explained how it can provide an incubator and ecosystem in Kerala as well as Oman for startups from National University students, but no decision has been announced.

Members of the visiting team included Ali Saad Al-Bimani, Vice-Chancellor of the University; Salim al-Araimi, deputy vice-chancellor and provost; Ahmad Hassan al-Bulushi, Dean, College of Engineering; and MP Nair, CEO and Executive Advisor.

Presentations made

The hospitality team of PM Mubarak Pasha, Vice Chancellor of Sree Narayana Guru Open University, and Manu Thomas, Business Development Manager of Kerala Digital University, accompanied the visitors. Vasanth Varada, Deputy General Manager (Client Relationship), Technopark briefed him on Kerala’s IT parks and collaboration opportunities.

Santhosh Chandrasekara Kurup, CEO, ICT Academy, Kerala; Ashok Kurian Panjikaran, Senior Director, Business Development and Startup Lifecycle, Kerala Startup Mission; Salini VR, Deputy Director of Global Relations; Rejah Rahim of Beagle Securities; Arun of the Neonics Academy; and Bhadran for Alibi Global made presentations.

Previously, the Omani delegation had visited the Digital University of Kerala and learned about the opportunities for technology collaboration between Kerala and Oman.
