Many U of A Online Degree Programs Rank High Nationally by ‘US News’

U of A’s Online Bachelor’s Degree Programs Rank 24th in US News and World Report’s 2022 “Best Online Programs” categories. Online graduate and graduate engineering programs also ranked highly.

The U of A’s 12 online bachelor’s degree programs from four colleges ranked 20th among public institutions. In the business subcategory, bachelor’s degree programs at the Sam M. Walton College of Business ranked 13th nationally and 9th among public institutions. American News ranked 228 institutions nationwide in the online bachelor’s degree category.

The College of Engineering’s online master’s in engineering programs took 49th place overall and ranked 37th among public institutions. American News ranked 104 institutions in the online engineering degree category.

Online Master of Education programs rose to 60th place in 2022, up 12 places from 2021. These College of Education and Health Professions programs ranked 53rd among public institutions .

HIGHER EDUCATION

The College of Education and Health Professions’ online Master of Education programs climbed 12 places to 60th among 322 institutions ranked in 2022.

The College of Engineering’s online master’s in engineering programs ranked 49th among 104 ranked institutions in 2022.

The graduate engineering degree programs delivered online are master’s degrees in engineering, electrical engineering and engineering management.

Providing quality online programs is imperative as more people rely on distance learning to access higher education, both at the U of A and nationally. The U of A offers more than 75 online degree, certificate, micro-certificate, and licensure programs.

About 15,770 U of A students took at least one online course in the 2021 academic year, representing nearly 51.96% of the student body. About 12% of all U of A students, or 3,733 students, studied exclusively online in the same academic year, according to the Global Campus 2020-2021 Annual Report. Online course data does not include enrollments in courses that have been classified by campus as “remote” during the pandemic.

Nationally, more than 7 million students studied remotely in fall 2019, nearly half of whom are exclusively taking remote courses, according to the National Center for Education Statistics. website.
