Bombay: The Kotak Mahindra Group today announced the launch of Kotak Kanya scholarship – a scholarship for girls. The Kotak Kanya Fellowship is a collaborative CSR project on education and livelihoods of companies in the Kotak Mahindra Group, which is implemented by the Kotak Education Foundation (KEF). The Kotak Kanya scholarship will financially support deserving female students from disadvantaged strata of society to pursue higher education after class 12.
This scholarship is exclusively for Indian students. The application process, which is administered online, begins on 9e August 2021. Students will need to apply through Buddy4Study ^, one of the largest scholarship platforms in India. KEF will accept application forms until 30e September 2021. Kotak Education Foundation (KEF) will implement the Kotak Kanya scholarship 2021 * for the girls. Under the Kotak Kanya scholarship, deserving female students who aspire to take professional graduation (diploma) courses from reputable institutions (NAAC / NBA / UGC accredited) after class 12 will receive scholarships to pay their tuition fees until the end of their diploma (diploma). Professional end-of-studies courses (diplomas) include engineering, medicine, architecture, design, specialist business and finance, public accounting (CA), corporate secretarial services (CS), Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and computer courses, etc. In addition, applicants must have achieved 75% or more of grades in their 12e board exams or equivalent, and the applicant’s annual family income must be Rs 3 lakh or less.
Rohit Rao, Group Co-Chairman and CSR Director, Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited, said: “The Kotak Kanya Scholarship is one of many efforts under the Kotak Mahindra Group CSR Project on Education and Livelihoods to Empower Girls by Providing them with Scholarships. Lack of or insufficient funds is one of the main problems preventing girls from pursuing vocational studies. The Kotak Kanya Scholarship, implemented by the Kotak Education Foundation, is an effort to bring about change in society, paving the way for a bright and promising future for deserving girls.
Dr Ganesh Raja, CEO of the Kotak Education Foundation, said: “The best investment in community development is to support young leaders motivated by passion and eager to make a difference. As part of the Kotak Kanya scholarship 2021, scholarships of up to Rs 1 lakh per year will be extended to female students to cover their academic expenses, including tuition fees, accommodation costs (applicable only for hostels on campus), internet, laptop, books, stationery, etc.
Children of employees of Kotak Mahindra Group, Kotak Education Foundation and Buddy4Study are not eligible to apply for the Kotak Kanya Scholarship 2021.

The B4S portal will help to publicize the Kotak Kanya scholarship 2021 and help with the process of managing scholarship applications, due diligence of documents, pre-selection of scholars and follow-up of scholars.
