Dyal wins National College Baseball Player of the Week honors

AUBURN, Alabama – Redshirt-Sophomore Ryan Dyall was named National College Baseball Player of the Week, the publication announced Monday.

It’s the second week in a row that an Auburn player has won the accolade after his teammate Sonny Di Chiara received the same distinction a week ago.

Dyal led the Southeastern Conference with 12 RBIs in six games last week and had multiple runs four times, including a career-best four runs in the series finale against Rhode Island.

The Senoia, Georgia native went 6 for 12 with six runs, three doubles, two home runs and 10 RBIs as Auburn beat Rhode Island 49-3 in four games over the weekend.

Dyal hit his first home run of the season in Saturday’s opener of the doubleheader and added his first career grand slam in the series finale, ultimately posting nine runs in the final three games of the series. He hit base a total of 11 times throughout the week and led the team with 16 total bases.

Dyal and the Tigers (11-2) continue non-conference play with a midweek clash against Tennessee Tech (10-0) in Madison, Alabama on Wednesday before hosting Middle Tennessee (4-9) in the final non-conference series this weekend. .
