He had been in ill health for five years. Young, a Democrat, was elected circuit clerk in 1921 at 21 and again in 1927. He made two unsuccessful bids county judge and defeated a in 1957 when ran dagain for circuit clerk. Young operated a grocery store in Central City for 36 years. His mother, Mrs.
