How does the SBC work? ›

Session Border Controllers (SBCs) are devices deployed at the border between private and public networks. For example, an SBC can securely and efficiently transfer data from Microsoft Phone System — a hosted Private Branch Exchange (PBX) — to the PSTN network or aggregate of all global telephone networks.

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), alternatively the Great Commission Baptists (GCB), is a Baptist Christian denomination based in the United States. It is the world's largest Baptist organization and the largest Protestant and second-largest Christian body in the United States.

Once annually, local churches elect messengers from within their body and send them to the convention's annual meeting. At the annual meeting, messengers debate and vote on SBC financial and organizational matters and public statements. They elect officers, trustees, and committee members.
